The Clock And The Camera

 

This was an open competition for a clock to commemorate the countdown to the year 2020, the target date for the country to reach its ‘developed status’. The edifice consists of a water curtain around a pavilion which is also a screen for a digitized calendar to scroll around the water wall. Sensors enable the water to be paused in segments of 2m width to allow visitors to pass through the water into the pavilion.

 

Visitors can take portraits of themselves with cameras placed inside, which would appear on digital monitors on the wall at the center of the pavilion. The portraits are archived into a hard-drive which could be retrieved online.
